Astronomy for Beginners

No previous experience required !

A series of 10 fortnightly sessions, starting from the very beginning, took place at our observatory in Brough in 2019. No prev[ous knowledge was assumed, and as always we hoped to provide a friendly environment where visitors could discover the joys of the night sky painlessly! Apart from the cold weather, of course...  the observatory is warm but visitors needed to wrap up well when the skies were clear as went ouside at times to do a tour of the stars etc. It can get cold using the telescopes in our two domes as well :-)

Started on Thursday March 14th 2019, at 7:30 pm

Each session was about an hour long, with half an hour afterwards for tea or coffee, biscuits and questions/chat, just £3 per adult per session. All ages welcome, but under 16’s had to be accompanied by an adult. We are a friendly society where we always endeavour to make you feel welcome, and we have facilities for disabled users  Send an email to us by clicking the 'contact us' link on the left for more details or to book a place on future sessions… or just email us at:
