Automated Camera Controller
Developed for use with the EOS, but can be used with any other camera that has remote shutter control by means of closing a pair of switch/relay contacts. Allows user to programme shutter period (when in bulb) from 15sec to 5mins in gradually increasing steps (see photo). Each cycle of Imaging (10 images) is split into 3 phases (5, 3, 2) with each phase being individually programmable for exposure. The cycle is repeated until you stop it. This allows a cycle to be made up of say 5x90sec, 3x60sec and 2x30sec exposures if you wanted to do HDR processing. Hardware is based on the Atmel AVR AT90S8515 microcontroller. Software occupies approx 25% of the chip. End result is that I won't suffer from eratic image exposures and freezing cold feet. For planetary use there is a 1sec setting for use with non-bulb camera set exposure times. Each image is separated by 5seconds to allow the image to be saved before starting the next.
